Who we are

We publish the Ease family of self-help guides

Credit Repair Ease is the third title in the Ease family, after Bankruptcy Ease and Foreclosure Ease. Each one takes a part of consumer law that people usually pay someone to handle, and lays it out step by step, in the order you'll actually do things.

We started with a simple observation. Most of what credit repair companies charge for is something federal law already lets you do for free: get your reports, dispute what's wrong, and make collectors prove what they claim. What most people lack is not the right, but a clear map of how to use it well. That map is what we publish.

We're a publisher, not a service. We don't take on clients, contact anyone on your behalf, or sell anything but the guides themselves. That keeps our only job focused: getting the information right and making it usable.

How we do the work

Our editorial standards

Credit advice is full of myths, recycled templates and promises no one can keep. These are the rules we hold ourselves to instead.

Primary sources first

Every right and deadline in the playbook traces back to the statute or regulation that creates it, such as the dispute rules in 15 U.S.C. §1681i, furnisher duties in §1681s-2, and debt validation in §1692g and Regulation F. Where the law is the source, we name it so you can read it yourself.

Every changing fact re-checked

Before publication, every claim we'd marked for verification was checked against a current source. Facts that move often, including medical-debt reporting, student loan collections, mortgage scoring models and bureau mailing addresses, were re-checked in October 2026 against current Department of Education, FHFA, CFPB and Federal Register sources.

State rules cross-checked

Our 50-state and DC statute of limitations table was compared against two independently published compilations. Where they disagreed, we went to the state statute itself and documented the result. The table also tells you how to confirm the current rule, because state law changes.

Tested before release

The AI companion was tested against realistic sample credit reports, built with fake data and deliberately planted errors, before we released it. Its audits and draft letters were reviewed against what the playbook says should happen, and it cites the chapter and letter number so you can check its work.

Dated, not timeless

Credit rules change, so we tell you exactly when our information was last checked: October 2026. You'll never have to guess whether you're reading something stale.

Written to be used

Plain English, an Action Steps box at the end of every chapter, and worksheets placed where you need them. We follow the same format across every Ease title because it works: you always know what to do before you turn the page.

What we stand for

Straight answers, even when they're not what you want to hear

Anyone can sell hope. We'd rather you trust what we tell you.

What we promise

  • To explain your rights accurately, with the source
  • To show you how to challenge information that is inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable
  • To tell you plainly when a situation calls for a lawyer, and where to find free or low-cost help
  • To keep your credit reports out of our hands. We never receive them.
  • To date our information and keep it current

What we will never do

  • Promise a higher score, or any result by any date
  • Claim we can remove accurate, timely information
  • Sell you a "new" credit identity, or anything that resembles one
  • Contact bureaus, creditors or collectors on your behalf, or upsell you a service that does

These aren't just our preferences. Promises like these are the clearest warning signs of a credit repair scam, and we built our business to look nothing like one.

Knowing our limits

Expert guidance has to include knowing when to stop

Self-help is the right tool for most credit report problems. It is not the right tool for all of them. If you've been sued, your wages are being garnished, or a company keeps reporting a clear error after two rounds of disputes, the playbook says so and points you to a consumer attorney. Many take these cases at no cost to you, because the law can make the company pay their fees.

What Credit Repair Ease is not

  • Not a law firm, and not legal advice
  • Not a credit repair company or credit services organization
  • Not affiliated with Equifax, Experian, TransUnion or any creditor
  • Not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI

The Ease family

One standard, three guides

Credit repair fixes what's wrong on your reports. If the debts themselves are the problem, or your home is at risk, our other guides cover the next step, built the same careful way.
